Website Redesign Case Study: Turn Key Marine

For our client in Florida, US, we were able to convert his static website into an exciting dynamic website that ranks well in search engines.

Turn Key Marine website BEFORE the redesign:

Notes on the OLD website:

  • Static website - time intensive to manage and to make changes
  • Built using Microsoft FrontPage

Turn Key Marine website AFTER the redesign:

Visit site - opens in new window/tab: Turn Key Marine

Some notes on the redesign:

  • Database-driven dynamic website with content management
  • Product catalog to display lists of boats for sale and to manage the listings from an administrative panel in the back-end. Also includes one-click operation to easily display "SOLD" stamp across the main listing photos.
  • Various third-party coding: weather, tides, RSS feeds, etc
  • PHP, MySQL, CSS

Needs Assessment

Before our work started, Turn Key Marine website was built using Microsoft Frontpage and had menu links at the bottom that did not work correctly.  Navigating through the pages was sometimes a bit of a cumbersome process.  The static design was also more time consuming to list boats and parts for sale and to indicate the items sold.  Please scroll down to see a screenshot of the old website.

Solution Provided

We converted the website into a dynamic website, which is much easier to manage listings of boats/parts and to indicate their location on Google Maps.  With a click of a button, customer is able to mark products as sold and corresponding red SOLD label shows up across main photo of listings.  There is also an options for user registration, password login, and bidding on the boats.
