At WebGuru, we want you to see return on your investment

WebGuru is an internet marketing and web design agency with ties to both Mongolia and Colorado.  We are based out of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and hope to open an office in Colorado sometime in 2010.  So far, we have clients from US (Florida & Utah so far, hoping for a Colorado push soon), United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Russia, and of course Mongolia.

WebGuru Co Ltd was founded by Mergen Chuluun (see Management section) and officially registered on October 1, 2008.  We launched our first site before our company website and even before we registered our company.  Our first website is for the Mongolian market and is called TANHIL.mn.  It was launched on September 17, 2008 at 17:17 o’clock. We launched it with hopes of capitalizing on the spending powers of teen girls who were underserved in the Mongolian market.  It is now THE TOP website for the teenage girl demographic in Mongolia.

Our company site webguru-co.com was initially launched in the middle of January 2009.  We kept both English and Mongolian content until August 2009, when we decided to split our websites into two: webguru.mn for the Mongolian market and webguru-co.com for the English speaking market in Mongolia and the World.  The reasoning behind this is simple: the Mongolian market and English-speaking market are quite different in their specific needs.  As such, our product offerings will be different between the two sites and the content will be little bit different as well.  We will do this in order to better serve our customers by fulfilling their exact web design and internet marketing needs.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to drive bottom-line results for our clients.  We want to create solutions that will help you generate more leads, improve sales, and or impact your bottom-line positively in some fashion or another.  At WebGuru, your success is our success!

Management

WebGuru Co Ltd was founded by and is managed by Mergen Chuluun.  The company has informal network of mentors and advisors in US and in Mongolia.  We also take a more collaborative approach to making strategic decisions, so this is never just about top management.  Our team members are involved as much as possible in many facets of our business operations.  With that said, let me present a shortened bio of our company Founder and Director Mergen Chuluun.

Mergen has spent 15 years living, studying, and working in the United States.  Mergen graduated from Colorado State University in 2003 with degrees in Computer Information Systems, Finance, and Entrepreneurship.  Mergen has worked professionally in the United States for four years as Financial Analyst with focus on profitability, pricing and marketing, including business planning, before coming to Mongolia in 2007.

From 2003 to 2004, Mergen worked professionally as Margin Analyst at Corporate Express, now a part of STAPLES, at the time a $5 billion office products distribution company based in Broomfield, CO, where he was on a team responsible for managing pricing as well as improving gross margin.  From 2004 to 2007, he worked as Pricing Analyst at Karcher Floor Care, the North American arm of Karcher GmbH, a German-based equipment manufacturing company with 1.5 billion euro in turnover.  At Karcher, Mergen was responsible for managing pricing of 20,000+ items and implementing price increases.  Mergen also heavily focused on analysis reports and projects relating to improving profitability of Castle Rock Industries, the company that was acquired and renamed as Karcher Floor Care during his tenure there.

Mergen also has worked for Uzone.com, a dotcom company just prior to and during the dotcom bust, from 2000 to 2001.  While studying in college, Mergen proudly worked 80-85 hours a week during summers of 2000 and 2001 with The Southwestern Company, a program focusing on building character and business skills in students while giving them an opportunity to make very decent money.

"Mongolia Thoughts" by Mergen Chuluun

I believe Mongolia has a bright future.  Like most others, I understand that getting the mining deal (Oyu Tolgoi) correctly is of atmost importance for our future growth.  Personally, I have two major hopes in regards to mining.  First, I hope that the benefits from the mining trickle down to the people and the country.  Secondly, I hope that we prioritize and spend the money from mining on education first and then on infrastructure (i.e. internet and wireless connectivity, railroads, highways connecting the rural Mongolia with Ulaanbaatar, etc).

There is quite a lot that is going right for Mongolia.  Our economy has grown significantly since 2000.  Prior to 2008, we saw very strong growths for five or six years.  Internet connectivity and wireless connection are transforming people's lives.  There are more IT graduates than ever before.  Herders in Mongolia are calling on their cellphones to get cashmere pricing.  Distribution companies have learned to fight better for consumer eyeballs with better focus on shelve space location.  Real estate and construction boomed for three or four years.  And, even though housing prices are down as much as 40% right now (as of summer 2009), people are still carrying on with their daily lives here in Mongolia.  People are not depressed.  There were periods of slight panic, but overall Mongolian people have positive outlook on life and things have not been that bad.

We at WebGuru hope to give back to the Mongolian community and make positive contributions every year.  In fact, we will make this one of our goals.  We will keep you posted on how we are giving back to the community.  This is of course aside from and in addition to offering really great services. :)

On His "Colorado Ties" from Mergen Chuluun

I have spent 14 years of my life in Colorado.  More specifically, I lived 9 years in Fort Collins, 1 year in Wellington, and 4 years in Denver.  Colorado is home to me in many ways.  I went to junior high, high school, and college there (Lincoln Junior High, Poudre High School, and Colorado State University).  Much of what I know and what I believe were gained while I lived in Colorado.  I had the privilege to meet, to learn from, and to work with many great people - teachers, managers, co-workers, neighbors, business owners, and so on.

With everything I have gained from living and learning in Colorado, it is only natural for me to give back to and to be part of the Colorado community.  I have some unbelievabe friendships and mentors in Colorado.  Because Colorado is so close to my heart, I am hoping to open a branch in Colorado in 2010.  Please let us know if you are in Colorado and are interested in connecting with us.

...it is only natural for me to give back to Colorado community once again, and continue to be a proud member of it.
